Project Overview

For this project, we had to take our client, Yellow Stone National Park, and have Yellowstone partner with Spotify for an interactive campaign. We chose Spotify as our partner because we wanted to reflect on the music boomers listened to while road-tripping to Yellowstone National Park. Most bombers were in their 20s around/during the 70s and we wanted to tie in the music from this time to the nostalgia of road trips together for this campaign.

Our campaign needed an incentive for our audience and we chose to have two prizes for the camping. The first prize was promoted on Instagram and Twitter asking users to comment their top 3 favorite 70s songs, follow National Park Services and Spotify, and use the campaign hashtag #YSRAODTRIP3. These songs that users comment on will be put into the Spotify Ultimate Road Trip playlist. Then there will be one winner picked on each of the platforms to win a 1-year free subscription to Spotify. On Pinterest and Facebook users were asked to post throwback road trip pictures and follow and tag National Park Services as well as Spotify. Users on these platforms could win a weekend stay at Yellowstone and if their picture wins the contest, it could be the cover of the Spotify ultimate road trip playlist.

What I learned!

This campaign taught me a lot about how to make a cohesive social media campaign across multiple platforms. Making all the different social media posts look all the same was definitely a challenge with a big group but once we had our main idea down we were able to work together and figure it out.
